Description

The bacterial toxin aerolysin has the remarkable ability to bind selectively and with high affinity to the glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors of cell surface proteins, causing lysis of normal but not GPI-deficient cells. FLAER is a fluorescently-labeled, inactive variant of aerolysin that does not cause lysis of cells. The reagent binds selectively to cell surface GPI-anchored proteins, but will not bind to cells that are missing GPI-anchors, such as cells with deficiency in any of the phosphatidylinositol glycan complementation groups (PIG) genes.

Application

FC - Quality tested

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this protein is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 5 µL per million cells in 100 µL staining volume or 5 µL per 100 µL of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
