CD265 is a type I transmembrane protein also known as receptor activator of NF-κB (RANK), tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 11A (TNFRSF11A), and osteoclast differentiation factor receptor (ODFR). RANK is a receptor for RANK ligand/TRANCE/OPGL and is involved in osteoclastogenesis and T cell/dendritic cell interactions. RANK is ubiquitously expressed in trabecular bone, thymus, small intestine, lung, brain, and kidney.
