Western blot of purified anti-Chil3 antibody (clone W17046B). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 20 µg of mouse spleen lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of human spleen lysate; lane 4: 10 ng of recombinant mouse Chil3. The blot was incubated with 0.5 µg/ml of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-rat IgG (Cat. No. 405405). Cytochrome C (Cat. No. 612504) was used as loading control. Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Description

Chitinases are hydrolytic enzymes that break down glycosidic bonds in chitin. Chitinase-like protein 3 (Chil3) hydrolyzes terminal non-reducing N-acetyl-D-hexosamine residues into N-acetyl-beta-D-hexosaminides. This protein is particular enriched in the spleen.
