NGAL (lipocalin-2) is a lipocalin family protein that plays important roles in innate immunity, inflammation, and atherosclerosis. Mouse NGAL is detected in lung, spleen, uterus, vagina, and epididymis. It is a critical component of innate immunity because of its ability to bind iron-siderophore complexes and limit bacterial growth. It is also produced by injured epithelia and is one of the most promising new markers for renal epithelial injury and cardiovascular disease (CVD).

ELISA Detection - Quality tested
- Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by ELISA. For ELISA detection applications, a concentration of 0.1 µg/mL is recommended. To obtain a linear standard curve, serial dilutions of NGAL recombinant protein ranging from 1000 to 15.6 pg/mL is recommended for each ELISA plate. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance.

The biotinylated M0417A8 antibody is useful as a detection antibody for a sandwich ELISA assay, when used in conjunction with purified M047A10 (Cat. No. 532202) antibody as the capture antibody.
Note: For testing mouse NGAL in cell culture supernatant, serum, plasma, urine and other biological fluids, BioLegend's LEGEND MAX™ Kits (Cat. No. 443707 & 443708) are specially developed and recommended.
