Cytokines are soluble factors that are used as communication tools between cells. As research reveals the importance of cytokines and other soluble factors, BioLegend keeps you up to date with information and products.

Interferon Beta (IFN-β) is a type I interferon often secreted (by epithelial cells and fibroblasts) in response to viral and bacterial components. IFN-β sparks anti-viral activity through hundreds of IFN-stimulation genes and has been used as a therapeutic in diseases like multiple sclerosis and hepatitis. Isthmin is a secreted protein with the ability to inhibit angiogenesis, limiting capillary formation and inducing endothelial cell death. In contrast, Nogo-B promotes angiogenesis and is essential in vascular remodeling. IL-33 is a cytokine that attracts Th2 cells and drives the production of IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13. Similarly, Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) is an IL-7 related protein that promotes Th2 development and allergic inflammation. Kitajima et al. helped to clarify the exact effects of TSLP on T helper cells.
