The host immune response is a series of layered defenses orchestrated by a large number of diverse cell types. These cell types range from members of the innate immune system like macrophages and microglia to multiple members of the adaptive immune system such as T cell subpopulations and B cells. In order to coordinate this complex biological phenomenon, cells constantly communicate with one another through the use of intercellular mediators such as cytokines and chemokines. Reliable multiplex assays for the quantification of cytokine profiles are critical biomedical research tools. BioLegend’s LEGENDplex™ bead-based immunoassays allow for the simultaneous quantification of up to 13 separate analyte targets from a small sample volume. Several assay panels are currently available to researchers that have been specifically designed to measure key inflammatory mediators from several important cell types. |
