3H3C27_PURE_Hsp90alphaslashbeta_Antibody_1_WB_060916
Total cell lysate from 293T cells (lane 1), HeLa cells (lane 2), and NIH-3T3 cells (lane 3) were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose, and probed with purified monoclonal anti-HSP90 (clone 3H3C27) antibody. Proteins were visualized using an anti-mouse-IgG secondary conjugated to HRP and chemiluminescence detection.

Immunoprecipitation of HSP90 from Hela cell extracts. Lane 1 is 1% input. Immunoprecipitation was performed using protein G resins only (lane 2), mouse IgG isotype control (lane 3), and anti-HSP90 antibody (clone 3H3C27, lane 4). Western blot was performed using anti-HSP90 antibody (clone 3H3C27).

Description

Hsp90 is one of the most abundant molecular chaperones. It modulates the stability and transport of a diverse set of critical factors, which include regulatory, metabolic, organizational, and signaling proteins. There are two major isoforms: α and β. In humans, the Hsp90β isoform is constitutively expressed, whereas the Hsp90α isoform is expressed under stress conditions. The Hsp90 dimer acts in concert with other chaperones and is regulated by a number of co-chaperones/accessory proteins. The upregulation of Hsp90 is associated with tumor progression, the invasion and formation of metastases, and the development of drug resistance. Therefore, Hsp90 has emerged as an important target for cancer treatment.
