C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with purified anti-mouse CD38 (clone S21016C) or purified rat IgG1, κ isotype control followed by goat anti-rat IgG PE. Cells were costained with anti-mouse B220 APC.

CD38, also known as T10, is a 45 kD type II transmembrane glycoprotein. It is an ADP-ribosyl hydrolase expressed at variable levels on hematopoietic cells and in some non-hematopoietic tissues (such as brain, muscle, and kidney). By functioning as both a cyclase and a hydrolase, CD38 mediates lymphocyte activation, adhesion, and the metabolism of cADPR and NAADP. CD31 is thought to be a ligand of CD38.

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.25 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
