Fatty Acid Binding Protein 5 (FABP5) is a protein that plays an important role in the regulation of cellular fatty acid metabolism. Initially discovered in epidermal cells, FABP5 binds long-chain fatty acids and other related hydrophobic molecules to facilitate their uptake into the cell. Utilizing this transport function, FABP5 plays an important role in regulating fatty acid metabolism and energy homeostasis. Additionally, FABP5 is capable of transporting lipid-based signaling molecules such as endocannabinoids, functioning in diverse pathways such as glucose homeostasis, retinoic acid signaling, and the inflammatory response.

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.25 - 1.0 µg/mL. For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, a concentration range of 0.25 - 1.0 µg/mL is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
- Application Notes
-
For IHC-P, titration to concentrations below 0.25 µg/mL may improve results.
