BCAT1 is an aminotransferase that catalyzes the catabolism of the branched-chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine, making it an important regulator of the TCA cycle. BCAT1 also plays a role in cell cycle progression, differentiation, and apoptosis. Clinical disorders involved with mutations in the BCAT1 gene include hypervalinemia and hyperleucine-isoleucinemia.

- Recommended Usage
-
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.1 - 1.0 µg/mL. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
- Application Notes
-
This clone failed to immunoprecipitate BCAT1 from NTERA-2 lysates.
This clone was tested for immunocytochemistry on NTERA-2 cells fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with either methanol or Triton X-100. Both methods resulted in dim staining of BCAT1. We therefore do not recommend the clone for this application. - RRID
