Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), also known as CD66e, is a glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and intracellular signaling. It is normally produced during fetal development in the gut, and its production stops before birth. CEA is re-expressed in increased amounts in Intestinal Carcinomas and several other tumors.
