IHC staining of Alexa Fluor® 594 anti-GluR2 antibody (clone L21/32) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded mouse brain tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R. (Cat. No. 928602), the tissue was incubated with 5 µg/ml of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C. Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst, and the slide was mounted with ProLong™ Gold Antifade Mountant. The image was captured with a 60X objective. Scale Bar: 20 µm

Description

Glutamate receptor 2 (GluR2), also known as glutamate receptor B, is a subunit of AMPA receptors (AMPARs) involved in fast excitatory synaptic transmission. GluR2 regulates the permeability of an AMPAR to sodium, potassium, and calcium, and the absence of GluR2 allows AMPARs to be blocked by polyamines.
