Cryptochrome 2 (CRY2) regulates core clock genes and participates in the maintenance of circadian rhythms in mammalian cells. CRY2 modulates a transcriptional autoregulatory feedback loop in circadian clocks. Two core clock proteins, CLOCK and BMAL1 forms a heterodimer, which binds to the promoter region of CRY and Periods (PER) genes to activate the expression of these genes. CRY2 forms a heterodimer with PER, translocates to the nucleus, and represses the CLOCK/BMAL1, thereby regulating circadian rhythms.

KO/KD-WB - Verified - Recommended Usage
-
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.25 - 1.0 µg/mL. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
- Application Notes
-
This clone recognizes both human and mouse CRY2.
When tested for western blot, this clone recognized a ~30 kD band of unidentified origin in human cell lines.
This clone failed to immunoprecipitate CRY2 during product development testing and is not recommended for the application.
When tested for ICC, this clone failed to stain RAW264.7 cells fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with either Triton X-100 or methanol; we therefore do not recommend it for the application. - RRID
