QA19A18 recombinant antibody binds to CD222 in human, which is also known as the Insulin-like growth factor 2 receptor (IGF2R), cation-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (CIMPR), and mannose-6 phosphate receptor (M6PR). CD222 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein present largely intracellularly in the Golgi apparatus and endosomal compartments, but also at the cell surface. CD222 is expressed ubiquitously in a vast majority of higher eukaryotic cell types and the central component of endosomal transport pathways. The variety of CD222 ligands implicates that CD222 plays important functions in many pathological processes, such as biogenesis of lysosomes, regulation of IGF2, LTGFβ activation, etc. Loss of CD222 is associated with inhibition of T effector cell function.
