Butyrophilin subfamily 3A (BTN3A), also known as CD277, is a 56 kD type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein. The butyrophilin (BT)/B7 3A family includes three members, BTN3A1, BTN3A2, and BTN3A3, which share a highly conserved extracellular IgV-like domain. BTN3A is broadly expressed in various immune cells including T cells, B cells, NK cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, and some tumor cells. It plays a role in T cell activation, regulating their proliferation and release of IFNƳ and other cytokines.
Clone 34-7.Rec has been shown to bind to a V region of BTN3A3 that is shared with BTN3A1 and BTN3A2.

- Recommended Usage
-
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 1.0 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
- Application Notes
-
This product was formerly named “anti-human CD277 (BTN3A1).” The 34-7.Rec clone has been confirmed to recognize BTN3A3. Cross-reactivity with other BTN3A subfamily members has not been tested.
