The membrane isoform of CD304 is a receptor that regulates angiogenesis and organogenesis in response to growth factors of the VEGF family. CD304 forms a complex with VEGFR2/KDR, resulting in increased cell migration and chemotaxis. In the nervous system, CD304 complexed with plexin mediates Sema-3A signaling and may be involved in axon guidance.

Antigen Details
- Structure
- Single-pass type I membrane protein, 103 kD. Contains two CUB motifs, domains similar to coagulation factors V and VIII, and a MAM domain in the extracellular domain. Isoform b is a soluble form.
- Distribution
-
Membrane, Secreted (isoform b).
- Function
- CD304 is a VEGF co-receptor involved in axon guidance, angiogenesis. and development of cardiovascular system. The secreted isoform inhibits binding of VEGF-165 to cells.
- Ligand/Receptor
- CD304 is a receptor for members of VEGF family and pro-angiogenesis cytokines, such as VEGF-A165, VEGF-B, VEGF-E, and PIGF-2.
