EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1, also known as F4/80, is characterized as a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF)-transmembrane 7 (TM7) family. Unlike its murine counterpart, which is widely used as a murine macrophage marker, the expression of human EMR1 is specific to eosinophils. Due to the restricted expression of EMR1, EMR1 is used as a therapeutic target for eosinophilic disorders.
