IHC staining of purified anti-LHX6.1 antibody (clone N228A/16) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R (Cat. No. 928602), the tissue was incubated with 1 µg/ml of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C. BioLegend's Ultra Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit (Multi-Species, DAB, Cat. No. 929901) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective. Scale bar: 50 µm

Description

LHX6 is a transcription factor that belongs to the LIM-homeobox protein family. LHX6 contains two LIM domains, followed by one homeodomain (HD). The protein has been shown to play an important role during neurodevelopment where it functions as a cell fate regulator that controls differentiation and development of neural cells, especially cholinergic and GABAergic neurons1. In the nervous system, LHX6 is mainly expressed in neurons, including motor neurons, interneurons, and sensory neurons.
