Annexin A3 (ANXA3) is a member of the annexin family, a group of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins that play diverse roles in cellular processes. In humans, Annexin A3 is primarily expressed in the liver, kidney, and various immune cells, where it participates in several physiological and pathological processes. Annexin A3 regulates membrane-related events, such as vesicle trafficking, exocytosis, and endocytosis. It is involved in the formation and stabilization of vesicular membranes, which is crucial for processes like the secretion of substances from cells and the recycling of membrane components. Annexin A3 is also implicated in anti-inflammatory responses. It can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which are mediators of inflammation, by binding to and modulating enzymes involved in their production. In addition, Annexin A3 is involved in the differentiation and function of macrophages, key cells in the innate immune response. It influences processes such as phagocytosis, the engulfing of pathogens or debris by immune cells, and may affect the immune response to infections and tissue injury. Annexin A3 expression is often altered in various cancers, including liver, colorectal, and ovarian cancers. It can either promote or suppress tumor progression, depending on the context, by affecting processes like cell proliferation, apoptosis, and metastasis.

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.25 - 1.0 µg/mL. For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, a concentration range of 1.0 - 10.0 µg/mL is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
- Application Notes
-
For use in immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue (IHC-P), it is recommended to perform antigen retrieval using Citrate Buffer, 10X (Cat. No. 420902) or Tris-EDTA pH 9.0 Antigen Retrieval Buffer (10X) (Cat. No. 422704).
This antibody is not suitable for immunocytochemistry (ICC).
