Total lysates (15 µg protein) from Ramos (Lane 1), HeLa (Lane 2) and NIH/3T3 (Lane 3) cells were resolved by electrophoresis (4-20% Tris-Glycine gel), transferred to nitrocellulose, and probed with 0.5 µg/mL purified anti-eIF3I (p36) antibody, clone 17C11 (upper). Proteins were visualized by chemiluminescence detection using a 1:3000 diluted goat anti-mouse-IgG secondary antibody conjugated to HRP for the anti-eIF3I (p36) antibody or 1:5000 diluted Direct-Blot™ HRP anti-β-Actin antibody, clone 2F1-1 (lower). Description

The elF3I (eIF3-p36) is a subunit of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex that plays a central role in the protein translation initiation. The eIF3 consists of at least 10 subunits ranging from 35 to 170 kd. elF3-p36 is constitutively expressed in many tissues, including spleen thymus, prostate, colon, ovary, etc.
