MRP1 is a 190 kD integral membrane phosphoglycoprotein. It is a member of the human ATP-binding cassette transporter multidrug resistance protein1 (MRP1), encoded by ABCC1. MRP1 is expressed in most normal tissues, with higher levels in the testes, lung, skin, small intestine, colon, kidney, placenta, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and skeletal muscle. ABCC1 encodes plasma membrane proteins that have important physiological transport functions and mediate a variety of xenobiotics against their concentration gradients. MRP1 plays an important role in the extrusion of drugs from the cell and their over expression can be a cause of failure of anticancer and antimicrobial chemotherapy.

- Application
-
ICFC - Quality tested
- Recommended Usage
-
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by intracellular flow cytometry using our True-Nuclear™ Transcription Factor Staining Protocol.
- Application Notes
-
QCRL-4 detects a discontinuous conformation-dependent epitope wholly contained in NBD2 of MRP1. The epitope for QCRL-4 has been mapped to aa 1294-1531. QCRL-4 is reported to be an effective and specific inhibitor of MRP1 activity when used in transport assays with inside-out membrane vesicles. QCRL-1, QCRL-2, QCRL-3, and QCRL-4 each bind distinct non-overlapping epitopes.
NOTE: For flow cytometric staining with this clone, True-Nuclear™ Transcription Factor Buffer Set (Cat. No. 424401) offers improved staining and is highly recommended. - RRID
