E5206_PURE_-Aquaporin-4_Antibody_120721
IHC staining of anti-Aquaporin-4 antibody (clone E5206) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human brain tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R. (Cat. No. 928502), the tissue was incubated with 5.0 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C. BioLegend’s Ultra Streptavidin HRP Kit (Multi-Species, DAB) (Cat. No. 929501) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective. Scale bar: 50 μm

Description

Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) is a member of the water-selective channel family that is predominantly expressed in astrocytes in the central nervous system. AQP4 is a regulator of water homeostasis by exchanging water across the endfoot membranes in the brain. This protein is vital for maintaining the normal level of cerebrospinal fluid influx into the brain cortex, parenchyma, and perivascular space.
