Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 5.0 - 10 µg/ml is suggested. For Western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 1.0 - 10 µg per ml. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Antigen Details
- Structure
- NAC-1 is a 527 amino acid protein with an apparent molecular mass of 57.3 kD.
- Distribution
-
Tissue distribution: brain, ovary, testis, and thyroid.
Cellular distribution: nucleus and cytosol. - Function
- NAC-1 is a transcriptional repressor that plays a role in stem cell self-renewal and pluripotency maintenance. NAC-1 also contributes to the progression of multiple types of cancer by suppressing the transcription of the tumor suppressor Gadd45GIP1. It also functions as a transcriptional corepressor in neuronal cells through recruitment of HDAC3 and HDAC4.
- Ligand/Receptor
- Interacts with other POZ/BTB proteins, HDACs, CUL3, PSMD7, RCOR1.
