RRM1 is the large activating subunit of ribonucleotide reductase, an enzyme that converts ribonucleotides into deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates (dNTPs).
The dNTPs formed as a result of this catalytic conversion are used in DNA synthesis and help maintain stable levels of DNA during cell division and DNA repair. Dysregulation of ribonucleotide reductase can result in dNTP imbalances, causing misincorporation of DNA. RRM1 is involved in carcinogenesis and tumor progression, and its expression is correlated with resistance to chemotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer.

- Application
-
WB - Quality tested
ICC - Verified - Recommended Usage
-
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.5 - 1.0 µg/mL. For immunocytochemistry, a concentration range of 1.0 - 2.0 μg/mL is recommended. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
- Application Notes
-
A minor 37kD band was detected by the clone during western blot product development testing. This band was also detected using a control antibody that was generated with a separate RRM1 immunogen; we believe this band represents a minor RRM1 degradation product.
When tested for ICC on HeLa cells fixed with PFA and permeabilized with Triton X-100, this clone failed to stain RRM1. We therefore do not recommend this fixation-permeabilization step when using this clone for ICC. - RRID
