A15113A_PURE_Clusterin_Antibody_1_WB_011717
Western blot of anti-Clusterin antibody (clone A15113A) and isotype-matched IgG2a control, binding to endogenous and recombinant human clusterin. Lane 1: 0.5 µL of human serum; Lane 2: 50 ng of recombinant human clusterin protein. Blots were incubated with 5 µg/ml of each primary antibody at room temperature for one hour, followed by incubation with horseradish peroxidase labeled goat anti-mouse secondary antibody (clone Poly4053). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

IHC staining of anti-Clusterin antibody (clone A15113A) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded brain tissue of a patient with Alzheimer's disease. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R. and 0.25% Triton X-100, the tissue was incubated with the primary antibody at 5 µg/ml overnight at 4°C. BioLegend's Ultra-Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided.

Description

Clusterin, also known as Apolipoprotein J, is a heterodimeric glycoprotein that is a member of the heat-shock protein family. The protein exhibits a wide array of biological functions including clearance of cellular debris through chaperone activity, apoptosis, lipid transportation, cell clustering, and complement inhibition. Clusterin is involved in many diseases related to oxidative stress and aging, including neurodegenerative disorders, cancers, diabetes, and inflammatory diseases.
